What’s the story behind The Pink Locket?
First I would like to welcome you to The Pink Locket, sit back and relax grab your cup of joe or glass of wine (if it’s evening time) and enjoy the story of how The Pink Locket got started.
I’ve been told that as little girl I use to love girly things, the colors hot pink, purple, headbands, bangles and pocketbooks. After taking a stroll down memory lane and looking at some old pictures, I came across one that was proof that I was born to “accessorize.” My floral blue headband and matching sundress with sterling silver bangles was proof enough (there’s also a picture floating around of my favorite hot pink tie…wait until I come across that one!)
Now let’s JUMP AHEAD some years…
I really got my start with learning about jewelry design as teen watching my aunt design jewelry for her jewelry collection called April’s boutique. She would take my sister, cousins and I to NYC’s Fashion District and we would spend afternoons going in and out of jewelry beading and supply stores. We would sit at the table and create bracelets, earrings and necklaces. I got really serious about the actual business behind it after I re-located to Atlanta in 2007 and discovered Etsy. I thought how cool, I can design and sell jewelry online. It wasn’t easy at first, learning to photograph, write descriptions, designing jewelry, marketing—I had to do it all—actually I’m still doing it all! Over the years my style and techniques have evolved and I’ve settled on designing mostly metal and wire wrapped jewelry pieces.
Throughout my blog, I also provide great tips on cleaning, caring and storing your jewelry and I’ll even poke in some great DIY tips, yummy recipes, fashion boards and videos. I try to make it interesting so you’ll keep coming back for more . Here’s a gallery of pictures of some of our interesting posts!
